Striving to help our children become
disciples of the Church
CCA’s choir program is comprised of two age-level groups, the Junior Choir for grades 3-6 and the Advanced choir for grades 7-8. Both choirs join to perform at weekly masses, events such as Garden Grove Tree Lighting and UCI Christmas Caroling, and festivals. These students combine their love of music with their passion for sharing the word of God with others as they minister to both the school and outside community. Open to all students regardless of skill level, this program aims to encourage music literacy, musicianship skills, and showmanship while building life skills such as perseverance and team-participation.
CCA’s new orchestra program is in it’s first year with a total of 32 fourth through eighth grade students. Partnering with Chapman University’s Music Department, this after-school and elective course is designed to expose students to different string instruments while developing their music literacy, musicianship skills, and performance practice. The program offers an introduction to the world of classical music and orchestra with two performance opportunities in the Winter and Spring. We strive to provide a strong foundation of the basic skills that students can carry into future high school programs or community youth orchestras. Still in its early stages, we hope that this program continues to develop and grow to include a large portion of the student body.
