I feel extremely blessed to be the principal of a school with such amazing students, motivated and dedicated staff, and parents who work with us to create an environment that facilitates student learning and faith formation. CCA is a Pre-School through 8th Grade Catholic School where our faculty and staff are highly committed to providing the most rewarding education possible while utilizing a wide variety of innovative and collaborative methods and activities. At this time of so much uncertainty, you can be certain that CCA will provide your child with a strong foundation and a place to call, “HOME.” Founded in 2012, as the only Diocesan Elementary School in the Diocese of Orange, our mission is: The teachers, staff, and parents of Christ Cathedral Academy are dedicated to providing for the formation of the whole child; spiritually, morally, physically, emotionally, and academically. We embrace the charisms of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose... With our minds, we learn, With our hearts, we pray, With our hands we serve, With our voice, we preach the good news. The commitment to academic excellence is evidenced across the campus, as well as our commitment to the health and safety of our CCA community. We have safety protocols in place to protect the students and staff during this pandemic. Temperatures are taken upon arrival, hand sanitizer and handwashing are done frequently throughout the day, masks/ face shields are worn, desk shields are on all K- 8 desks, schedules are staggered to eliminate congestion in the hallways, social distancing is in place, and so much more. Our highly qualified teachers utilize a variety of teaching strategies and practice differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students. A well-developed curriculum enables our students to excel in all academic areas. Academy students have been recognized for their excellence in writing, singing, art, and sports. As the only Diocesan Elementary School in the Diocese of Orange, we work closely with Father Christopher, the Rector and Episcopal Vicar of Christ Cathedral, and the Department of Catholic Schools to ensure an exemplary school for students. Our students attend weekly Mass in the Cathedral beginning April 2020. This year, one class per week attends Mass in-person while the rest of the school participates from their classroom via live stream. Afterward, Communion is brought to the school and distributed to all who are able to receive. 2nd Grade sacramental preparation is embedded in their school day and students receive their Sacraments at Christ Cathedral. We strive to foster a strong relationship between the Parish and School. Thank you for your interest in our school. I invite you to explore our new website to see what makes the Academy such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
